Close Coupled - The cistern is joined to the pan by a ledge, which in turn conceals the flush pipe. Both the cistern and pan are made from vitreous china.
Connector - The most traditional styled toilet, the cistern is connected to the pan by a plastic flush pipe, also known as a link piece. It can be fitted with either a plastic or vitreous china cistern.
