TreeTop Adventures Park, Western Sydney Parklands
Soaring up to four storeys above the ground, this high ropes obstacle course provides panoramic views of the Sydney CBD as you make your way along suspension bridges and fly down zip lines. While the general entry is perfect for everyone aged to 10 to 18+, if you have younger family, TreeTop Adventure Park also has a children’s obstacle course designed specifically for children aged three to nine years old.
Prices start from $25 for children on the obstacle course and up to $120 for adults completing the breathtaking TreeTop Safari. There is also five percent family discount for two adults and two children. TreeTop Adventure Park also has a central Coast and Newcastle locations, each offering activities for different ages and abilities.
Urban Jungle, Sydney Olympic Park
You don’t need to travel far and wide to experience the thrill of climbing trees – Sydney locals need to look no further than their own backyard. Urban Jungles at Sydney Olympic Park is open to everyone aged eight and above who is 125cm or taller. Get strapped in and embark on your journey around the course as you crawl through barrels and make your way through more than 50 aerial obstacles.
Ending with a thrilling flying fox, Urban Jungle is a great way to get the kids away from their gadgets and venture outdoors as the whole family bonds. For only $35 for children and participating adults, and $3.50 for adults supervising from the ground, it is a great weekend getaway for busy families.
Trees Adventure Grose River Park
Trees Adventure Grose River Park gives children as young as four a chance on the high ropes. Safety is paramount, and the fantastic yellow course if specifically designed for little ones over 100cm tall. It includes the perfect number of daredevil thrills to boost their confidence without terrifying them; it’s also a great way for siblings or or a group of friends to practise teamwork.
The park is not just for kids – it also offers a variety of courses graded by colour. Luckily, the 21 flying foxes make the effort all worthwhile. Kids aged four to nine pay $25, kids aged 10 to 17 years and concessions will pay $33, and adults are charged at $39.
Otway Fly, near Lavers Hill on the Great Ocean Road
The Otway Fly consists of adrenaline-pumping zip line journeys through the forest as well as the Otway Fly Treetop Walk. The TreeTop Walk will cost you $24 per adult, $10 per child (four to 15) and $64 for a family of two adults and two kids.
For that little bit extra, the zip line tour sees you strapped into harnesses and zipping along steel cables through the picturesque Victoria forest. To take flight on the zip line, children must be at least four years old and 105cm tall, although children under 115cm are required to ride in tandem with a parent. Children four to six will cost you $75, ages six to 15 years are $82.50, and adults charged $115. The family rate for two adults and two children is $375.
Thunderbird Park Adventure Park, Tambourine Mountain
Set high above the ground, the obstacle courses at Thunderbird Park Adventure Park are designed to get progressively harder so children and adults alike can challenge themselves as they make their way through each.
To embark upon the challenge, participants must be able to reach at least 160cm, or those brave enough to attempt the black course will need to be able to reach up to heights of at least 180cm. with five levels in all consisting of barrels, climbing nets, suspension bridges and more, families can test just how high they dare to go.
The courses range in altitude from two to 20 metres off the ground. Entrance is $39 for a child (under 18) and $49 for an adult. Concessions pay $44 with student card, and families of two adults with two or children pay $160.
