Beginning his apprenticeship in 1974, Barry, like all apprentice carpenters had 4 years to learn new skills and an eye for detail. On completion of his Carpentry & Joinery apprenticeship Barry - the Carpenter then went out on his own to become a qualified carpenter in Melbourne.

As a self employed carpenter in Melbourne at the ripe old age of 21, he employed two carpenters, one an apprentice and a carpenter and went about working for builders building new homes and then branching out doing extensions and renovations.

All these experiences presented many challengers which then led Barry to become a Registered Builder in his own right.
