Brian and Daphne Grant started their cabinet making business in January 1966 in the fibro shed at the back of their house. Two years later in 1968, they purchased the old grocery shop at the present site at Bundamba. The business enjoyed steady growth and by 1979, employed four tradesmen and two apprentices. A year later their son, Greg Grant, joined the company. The next few years saw continued growth with a new building constructed and kitchen appliances and bathroom fittings added to the showroom.

From the early 1990’s, Greg took over the management of the business and as sales grew so did staff levels. The showroom was extended, office space created, and storage and mezzanine areas were built. In 2006, a large overhaul of the factory area was conducted to allow for upgraded machinery and work stations. A new dust extraction machine was added and soon after followed the introduction of the CNC computer routing machine.

The year 2008 saw the official retirement of Brian and Daphne Grant. The business took on a new director, Mark Corvo. Mark brings with him a fresh modern outlook with a strong vision to see the company through its next 40 years. His enthusiasm extends from his footy days playing with the Bronco’s and the Canberra Raiders. Mark’s vision is for the company to maintain all its proven qualities that have provided countless customers with great value for money and a job well done.

Staff loyalty is a testament to the leadership the company has received over the years with Greg (Kitchen Designer) and Dave (Factory Manager), giving over 30 years of services each. Jim, (Tradesman) has been employed 21 years, John (Storeman) 18 years, and Tom (Operations Manager) 16 years. Steve (Bathroom Coordinator), Luke (Processing Officer), and Fabio (Tradesman) have all completed apprentices at Brian Grants and have given over 17 years of service each. Paul (Bathroom Consultant) has also been with the company for 14 years. These are the strong foundations that continue to contribute to the success of Brian Grant Kitchens and Bathrooms.
