Cox Street Vets was established in November 2013 and succeeded the former business Hamilton Animal Health. The business is equally owned by 3 directors Dr Andrew Whale, Dr David Rendell and Dr Kristabel Lewis.

In October 2013, Hamilton Animal Health joined forces with Livestock Logic of Hamilton after the acquisition of Western District Veterinary Services (WDVS), a business formerly owned and operated by Dr Karen King. The new entity has undergone a name change from Hamilton Animal Health to Cox Street Vets and focuses on small animal and equine services.

Cox Street Vets employs 6 dedicated veterinarians and a team of 5 highly skilled veterinary nurses and support staff. With this number of veterinarians, pets receive the prompt care and attention they deserve. Similarly, having a large committed team allows our vets to focus on areas of interest to them, such as equine dentistry, wildlife trauma or everyday care of cats and dogs. This means our clients receive the most up to date treatment and advice for their animals.

Servicing Hamilton and surrounds, Cox Street Vets offers home and farm visits if you are unable to bring your animals into the clinic. Our modern facilities boast convenient off-street parking, onsite facilities to cater for horses and livestock (as well as your pets) and a 24/7 emergency after hours service. Our state of the art diagnostic equipment ensures that most tests can be conducted on your animals while you wait, reducing the time to diagnose and treat.
