After graduating from the Medical School of the University of Sydney in 1981, Dr. Tiong underwent extensive training in eye surgery, ENT, head & neck, plastic surgery, orthopedic surgery, abdominal surgery, vascular surgery, and many years of open heart surgery and kidney transplants. He has worked at many major teaching hospitals and disciplines of medicine and surgery with extensive experience in dealing with patients who have under gone major surgeries.

Dr. Tiong is recognized for working alongside many of medicine’s greats, such as the late Professor Fred Hollows, in coding Eye Diseases in the “National Trachoma Eye Program”. He also worked alongside the late Professor T Keogh conducting research at the now named Keogh Institute of Reproductive Medicine in Western Australia.

In 2002, Dr. Tiong pursued further training in Advanced Cosmetic Surgery with the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He has also followed many surgical fellows and plastic surgeons such as Dr M Zaccharia, Dr R Boyd, Dr EP Tan and Dr C Moore.
From 2007, he was appointed to be a Senior Lecturer at the Medical School of Notre Dame University of Sydney as well as a visiting fellow of University Technology of Sydney. Here, he teaches Clinical Anatomy to post-graduate students studying medicine. Dr Tiong is also involved in teaching General Practitioners on Gaining Suturing workshops.
Concurrently, Dr Tiong and his team have successfully treated patients with Chronic Lymphoedema in Australia, making him one of Australia’s pioneers. He is still actively researching the problems faced by these patients, hoping to relieve the untold suffering of them.

His background in training, research, and teaching; combined with twenty years of clinical experience enables him to offer his patients the knowledge, expertise and compassion they deserve. He believes in achieving a sensitive understanding of their aesthetic goals and is committed to addressing the personal objectives of his patients.
