Houston Dearn O'Connor was established in 1966 and since that time has continued to operate out of Burwood, in Sydney’s Inner-West. The firm consists of two Principals, Tim O'Connor and Steven Shneider, a Consultant and former Principal, Bert Houston, three employed solicitors and four legal support staff including two experienced conveyancing clerks.

The firm is located in close proximity to Burwood Local Court and to Burwood railway station. It is conveniently located by way of road or rail to the central Sydney area and to the Courts Precinct at Parramatta. Our location is also handy to suburban Local Courts at Bankstown and Balmain.

Our specialty and predominant area of involvement is Local Government and Planning law. We represent six Councils and, as a consequence, a large proportion of the firm's work is in that field. We also act in the same field for private developers and others who find themselves in dispute with Councils.

In addition, the firm offers a full range of services in the more standard areas of practice, including Criminal Law, Family Law, Conveyancing, Wills/Probate and Commercial/Business law.
