About IPD Industrial Products
PD Group Limited traces its beginnings back to 1956 when English Electric opened its operation at Regents Park in Sydney. In 1989 the business was folded into the power generation and transport company, GEC ALSTHOM. This developed into the French owned business ALSTOM which became a very successful Australian business in power generation, network services, transport, IT, HV distribution and Industrial Products.
Today it remains as a much changed and diverse organisation - IPD Group Limited, a 100% Australian owned and operated company, acquired from ALSTOM in 2005 by the management team who continue to build on the original business platform.
IPD Group Limited delivers strong brand names and leading-edge developments, providing world class manufacturers a powerful presence in Australia. GE: circuit breakers, distribution equipment & industrial control. Elsteel: modular switchboard systems & steel enclosures. IDEC Izumi: industrial relays, control devices, power supplies & automation. WT Henley: cable joints and terminations, Mersen: specialized European and American fuse gear. Hensel: thermoplastic and GRP enclosures. Ellis: cable cleating devices. Dehn: surge and lightning protection. Socomec: energy management & metering.
In 2008 IPD acquired the Adelaide based lamp sourcing business of P.J. White & Co. In 2014 we acquired Hivotech, a manufacturer & supplier of LV and HV test equipment for rail and utility asset maintenance.
IPD Group Limited designs and manufactures a large range of products specifically suited to the local environment, maintaining an in-house engineering team to develop and test new ranges of equipment to ensure conformity to Australian and international standards.
