The company was founded in Ballarat by William McKnight, at a time when electricity was being rolled out across the region. McKnights installed electrical wiring in homes and businesses, connecting them to the new grid, and to a new future. We’re still servicing some of those same homes and businesses today.

Our clients have grown, and we’ve grown with them. Today, McKnights services business and homes across the nation, including leading Australian organisations such as Bunnings, Boral, Harvey Norman, and Fairfax.

The company is now headed up by Wes McKnight, grandson of William and third generation owner and manager of McKnights. And while our traditional values of quality, service and safety still underpin every aspect of our operations, McKnights is very much at the forefront of electrical technology.

We’ve evolved with every technological change in the last century, from the birth of power connection in Australia, to renewable energy, wireless connectivity, and automation technology.
