About Spencer Garden Design & Horticultral Services
Based in Alphington, Melbourne, SGD offers all aspects of garden care from consultation, design and maintenance.
I have had a passion for plants and gardening from an early age. After working as a Chef for numerous years I decided to further develop my knowledge of plants and garden design and studied horticulture at Burnley College.
After winning ABC gardener of the year in 2007 and opening my own garden to the public with the Australian Open Garden Scheme, it became evident that people liked my work and style. As a result I developed a part time business while continuing with my full time employment as a horticulturist. As my client base soon increased through word of mouth I decided to expand Spencer Garden Design & Horticultural Services into a full time business.

In house consultation is available for:
• horticultural advice
• design ideas
• plant selection and plant combination advice
• address specific areas in your garden of concern
• irrigation
• Garden Design
Whether designing a garden from scratch or rejuvenating an existing garden, SGD strive to design a bespoke garden to capture your specific brief, requirement and lifestyle to create a unique space complementing and enhancing existing architecture, site conditions and surrounds.
Maintenance
SGD will care for your garden if it were our own.
• Seasonal care and maintenance program specifically tailored to your garden
• Ongoing maintenance program available for those who wish to have their gardens looking and growing their absolute best.
• One off / periodic maintenance service available, if you require a helping hand and some friendly advice
• Irrigation installation and servicing
• Turf installation and lawn renovations
• Hardscape rejuvenation- deck oiling – fence painting – high pressure cleaning of paving and hard surfaces
• Project management
A full project management service is available from start to finish with your garden design construction. SGD have access to various reputable and qualified trades people to carry out works such as paving, decking and retaining wall construction. Once all hardscaping is complete SGD will implement all softscaping such as soil amendment/improvement, planting, irrigation installation, mulching and turf laying.
