Located in a former industrial precinct from the 1920s, The Grounds of Alexandria is a landmark coffee roastery, café and sustainable garden known for its abundance of fresh produce and hands-on experiences.

The initial concept of The Grounds was born from entrepreneurial duo Ramzey Choker and Jack Hanna who had a vision to turn the then industrial concrete car park into a thriving urban sanctuary, designed as a welcoming space to bring people together.

The Grounds is built on the philosophy of creating experiences for communities through quality products, innovations and an ever-evolving vision.


The Cafe at The Grounds
No time to dine in? The Cafe at The Grounds also offers take-away choices with a focus on healthy options including a selection of salads (be sure to try the detox salad), wraps, and an array of fresh pastries, smoothies and juices. We have also introduced The Grounds sodas, including Coconut Fizz and Pomegranate Pop, refreshing and full of antioxidants.

And we didn’t forget the little guys, with delicious food for them as well, everyone is sure to be excited by what’s in The Cafe. And while you are there, check out Goldy Horn and Margoat Robbie who are the newest additions to our farm at The Grounds.


The Potting Shed
The Potting Shed is a place to meet, eat, drink, relax and chat your day and night away – where hanging plants, terracotta pots and timber beams meet brass, brick and iron. Where you can plant yourself down on the swing seat, bench or at the bar and feel like you are on your family’s porch.

It’s a lively place where you can hoe into fresh, locally harvested produce, delivered by our shed-hands. The same hands that will deliver you good-natured banter, craft beers on tap, great tasting wines and unique cocktails.


The Garden
Why not get your Café meal takeaway and enjoy it in the sun surrounded by our own little oasis. Our guests are free to roam The Garden and explore what we have on offer. Plenty of seats for you and your friends to relax, and enjoy your meal.

On the weekend you will find the tantalising aroma of donuts throughout the air in The Garden, this is where create our own warm and delicious varieties, choose between Nutella, jam and cinnamon – or have them all. Make sure to stop by any time between early morning and 4pm Saturday and Sunday to get your hands on a Grounds favourite. Now available on Monday’s until 3pm.
