The Mill Street Tavern has been open for business since April 2005.The Tavern was completely refurbished inside and out. It is situated close to the CBD and has ample on site and off site parking.

Apart from the normal hotel facilities the tavern is designed to cater for functions.

The Mill Street Tavern is owned and operated by Jason and Janelle Smith. Jason is a former NRL player who played 16 State of Origin games for Queensland and has represented Australia in 16 test matches.

Jason's career started in 1990 with the Canterbury Bulldogs, he then went on to play with the Parramatta Eels. Jason then went to England for 4 years to play for Hull. On returning to Australia he played for the Canberra Raiders before relocating to Townsville and playing with the Cowboys. Jason retired from Rugby League in 2007. So come down and have a chat with Jason and enjoy the atmosphere on offer at The Mill Street Tavern.

The Mill Streets Tavern's upper floor has a function area consisting of the Station Masters Room and a fully enclosed deck bar.

The area is fully air-conditioned and is available for hire for private parties and celebrations.

The hire charge for this area is $200, which includes exclusive use of the upper area of the tavern, a staff member and cleaning. The function area is available up to 12am (midnight).

The area can comfortably cater for ‘cocktail-style’ events and sit down meals. The Tavern has a selection of platters for purchase and guests can order from the Bistro Menu. The Station Masters room has a range of audio visual equipment and a large flat screen television for use by clients.
