The Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL) was announced in September 2020 due to help Australia to add more professional job opportunities that will help Australia to recover from the COVID-19. For those who wish to have sponsored visa applications, the National Skills Commission along with Commonwealth departments have decided to add a new list on the Priority Migration Skilled Occupations List (PMSOL). There were 41 occupations critical skills that were needed to help Australia’s economy recover amidst the COVID-19 situation. Though the other skills lists remain active, the Australian immigration going to prioritize those who qualified with PMSOL requirements. However, the list might change to fill what is needed by the government. COVID-19 impacted a lot of Australia’s economy hence, the Australian Government and the National Skills Commission will update the lists to fill the labour shortage and select the skilled immigrants that are needed at this time. The Update Regarding Skilled Migration
After receiving feedback from Australian business stakeholders especially from important business sectors, the National Skill Commission decided to update the Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL). The Australian government is trying to support Australian businesses by adding more range of skilled occupations through the skilled migration with these 22 new occupations (including ANZSCO codes): - Accountant (General) (221111) - Accountant (Taxation) (221113) - Accountant (Management) (221112) - External Auditor (221213) - Internal Auditor (221214) - Electrical Engineer (233311) - Civil Engineer (233211) - Structural Engineer (233214) - Geotechnical Engineer (233212) - Transport Engineer (233215) - Mining Engineer (233611) - Petroleum Engineer (233612) - Surveyor (232212) - Cartographer (232213) - Other Spatial Scientist (232214) - Medical Laboratory Scientist (234611) - Orthotist / Prosthetist (251912) - Multimedia Specialist (261211) - Analyst Programmer (261311) - Software and Applications Programmers (261399) - ICT Security Specialist (262112) - Chef (351311) Be sure to check the travel requirements before travelling to Australia due to the border restrictions.
