Dog Attacks

Being bitten or attacked by a dog can be a confronting scenario and often results in Post-traumatic Stress Disorder or long-lasting physical injuries, or both. Compensation is not limited to damages for pain and suffering and can also included an amount for past and future incapacity for work and medical treatment. The Dog Act 1976 ensures that the owner of the log is liable for the attack even if the dog had never shown signs of aggression. A claim for compensation is normally made on the dog’s owner who then makes a claim under and in accordance with his or her insurance policy.
